What jobs in music industry involve meeting bands, going backstage, good hours and good pay?

Sound tech would be best for being backstage & meeting the band. The hours are anti-social though as already mentioned. You have to be there early to check everything is set up, there for re-hearsal to check everything sounds right & then through the gig to ensure nothing goes wrong. Pay depends on whether you are that bands sound tech, in which case you would travel with them or if your company employed which means more money & working with different people. For most of these jobs you need a course in media through university. The best way to find out if it suits you is apply to be a runner. The money is c**p but at least you wont waste years at uni if it doesn’t suit you.
