What kept Beethoven going after he became deaf?
Poet Schiller helped him during his composing of his 9th Symphony, especially when he was completely deaf at that time. His love of nature also inspired him to continually compose, as well as thinking about compositional ideas that inspired Richard Wagner. He also realized that he had a unique niche in his composing, and he could not stop. He realized that only music can save him from his tragic hearing loss.
