Rabbit droppings work great! If you know someone who has a pet rabbit, you could use their droppings on your tomato plants. You may also be able to work something out with your local humane society to take away their waste. Mix the rabbit droppings with equal parts soil to keep the manure from molding.

If rabbits are not available, horse and goat manure work well also. These tend to be higher in nitrogen and lower in calcium so you would have to test the soil regularly. Tomatoes like calcium but don’t do well in high nitrogen soil.

Tomatoes love calcium, so if you fish or know someone who does, composting fish waste works beautifully on tomato plants. Just make sure to compost it in a closed container far away from the house do to the smell.

Another good way to get fish waste is to dump the water out of your fish aquarium on the tomatoes. You have to clean out the tank anyway, why not recycle the water and put it to good use on your tomatoes?

There is a cow manure that you can buy pretty cheaply from garden stores. $4 for 25L of the stuff. But you can’t go wrong with blood and bones. Its organic and slow release, and pretty cheap. I believe there is specialised tomato fertilizer. Just go to a nursery or garden store and have a poke around. I’d stay away from the chemical fertilizers. They kill the earthworms and leech into waterways, plus you’d be eating the stuff you’re putting into the ground.
