What kind of food causes migraines?

Different people have different triggers, SOME of which may be diet related. For me the food/drink triggers include chocolate, strawberries, cheese, onion/garlic/chives (or even its smell), alcohol and over-ripe bananas. Non food triggers include: not eating, stress and tiredness. The biggest improvement came from receiving treatment for a previously undiagnosed thyroid problem (which is not commonly associated with migraines). To find your triggers, it can be helpful to keep a diary including details of what you ate. There is a LOT of nonsense talked about diet. Most of us are not intolerant of mono-sodium glutamate and, while the caffeine in tea and coffee is mildly diuretic, there is a net fluid contribution to your body from drinking these things.
