What kind of shoes did hippies wear?
They would wear the round-toed or even blunt-toed shoes with chunky or wide heels. As this fad/fashion progressed, the height of the front part of the shoe was raised & then the chunky/wide back-heel was raised to match the height of the front part of the shoe. These became known as the “platform shoe”. There were shoes with low-heels/round-toes during these times as well. Someone answered sandals here & they are also correct. Sandals were very popular than too. And- Going barefoot was in style at the time. Just as many people went barefoot almost, as those who wore shoes.
