What kinds of funding opportunities does NIFA offer?
NIFA offers three types of funding opportunities: competitive grants, formula-funded grants, and special line-item grants. NIFA’s funding opportunities are considered federal financial assistance. Consequently, all NIFA awards are governed by the appropriate federal and agency-specific regulations, such as OMB Circulars and the Code of Federal Regulations.
