What legacy did ancient Greek artists leave to modern times?
Their statues evolved from static poses to more dynamic and realistic representations. There really isn’t a heck of a lot of surviving paintings or any other ‘artwork’ besides jewelry, architecture, and maybe mosaics. They were a stable civilization – I think that’s what comes through to me – and that’s why modern cities and cultures recreate their stuff as best they can – to project that same idea of ‘stability’. I’m not sure if this fits your question, but Greek architecture has been copied for millenia – first by the Roman Empire and then again by the USA for their White House and countless other buildings as well. Many other countries have copied or improvised on ancient Greek architectural themes as well.
