What machine can handle sewing stretch fabric in multiple layers with elastic, and sequins, yet no drama?
Sequins are removed from the seam line and then re-stitched by hand. This leaves sewing spandex. With a stretch type needle and short and narrow zig-zag stitch the rest is simple. Anything that has a “coating” or leather can be sewn, using a Teflon presser foot. Now we are down to which brand and model – any that has more than one position for the presser foot level. I have a Singer 1507 – not very expensive that has this feature. Visit as many sewing machine dealers as you can with your list and they will show you what is available. You do not have to make a purchase until you have reviewed what is available and test driven the machines with a sample of your fabrics.
