What makes Angelas oregano so special?
Angela’s oregano is cultivated exclusively by organic methods under the strict observations of BIOS s.r.l., a certification body authorized by the Agriculture Ministry of Italy to supervise organic productions of agricultural products in Italy. Angela’s oregano farm is currently the only oregano farm certified organic in Italy. While most commercial oregano farms use air-flow driers to induce artificial drying, Angela takes pride in using a traditional Italian air drying technique that has been used for well over 100 years. At harvest time, our oregano is placed in antique shelters made of stone and straw where they are slowly and naturally dried at temperatures below 40 Celsius. This drying technique is essential for it reduces the loss of flavor through volatilization of essential oil, and to maintain a good, green color.
