What makes Gatorade so much better than water?
Gatorade has performed lab-testing to make sure that the product adequately replaces the fluids and electrolytes lost when a person becomes dehydrated. Gatorade.com explains that the 6% carbohydrate solution in the product allow it to be absorbed very quickly and easily. In addition, they claim that the electrolytes in Gatorade stimulate the body’s sense of thirst and actually encourages the person to drink more so that the proper level of hydration is maintained prior to, during, and after the strenuous activity he or she is performing. What the heck does any of this have to do with a colonoscopy? Nothing really. I just had to mention that the taste of Original Gatorade is really gross. It tastes exactly like the gallon o’goo that you have to drink the night before a colonoscopy. It is not quite as salty tasting and doesn’t cause the same reaction (thankfully), but it has that same salty, lemon lime flavor, just like the colonoscopy prep. Don’t ask me how I know that,
