What makes NIP TI different from other institutes?
Psychoanalysis began almost a century ago with a single practitioner and a single technique. Today there are literally hundreds of “schools” and “techniques” of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. Most training institutes subscribe to a single school and thus offer a relatively limited approach to theory and techniques. The Program in Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy at NIP TI was developed in order to offer a broader, less restrictive training opportunity, more responsive to the contemporary state of the field and to the needs of current candidates and practitioners. The core of the program is a thorough training, both didactic and practical, in the basic principles of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy, drawing heavily on the most recent advances in the fields of theory, self psychology, interpersonal psychoanalysis, and the postmodern relational thinkers.
