What makes Tempo Fitness machines so quiet?
It’s how we design and build them. For Tempo Fitness treadmills, it starts with the motor. We use larger motors than most of our competitors, with large magnets that generate ample power at a low rpm, or revolutions per minute. More power in fewer revolutions means that the motor doesn’t work as hard to change and maintain speeds, so it runs smoother and quieter than other treadmill motors in its class. It’s also more reliable and durable than smaller treadmill motors. Tempo Fitness ellipticals and bikes use a magnetic resistance system. It is a frictionless system which means that there are no internal parts that make contact with the flywheel. In some competitors models they use canvas straps or brake shoes to create friction with the flywheel, which increases the noise level. Additionally, some competitors market air resistance bikes which have been proven to create 72 dB of noise intensity (about the equivalent of city traffic, which is 20 times greater than our magnetic resistance
