What makes the Student Aided Instruction Lab (SCAILAB) different from any other computer lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago?
What you’ll notice first when walking into SCAILAB is the view, the entire wall is an unbroken panel of windows facing the trees and the passing people. You need not feel trapped in a lightless box as in the other computer labs. Plants hang from the ceiling or are placed on the tables, posters and flags cover the walls. Promoting creativity and creating a relaxed atmosphere for our users is important. SCAILAB has stuffed animals to talk to, puzzles to procrastinate with, CD-ROM drives to play music on, as well as the phone numbers of local pizza deliveries.
