What makes Toblerone so satisfying?

A year ago a friend brought me back some dark chocolate from Europe that was frankly too dark and too bitter. But I found Toblerone to be the perfect balance. The difference is that the dark chocolate is combined with a honey and almond nougat. The slightly sweet and crunchy nougat combines nicely with the dark chocolate so the bitterness is not overpowering. If you’re a dark chocolate lover, or have one in your life, Toblerone Bittersweet Dark Chocolate is the perfect little indulgence. One bar only costs a couple of dollars (although I’m sure I paid more at MIA) and gives lots of satisfaction! About Toblerone . . . Jean Tobler first opened a chocolate shop in Bern, Switzerland in 1867. In 1908 his son developed the first Toblerone chocolate bar with the same distinctive shape that it has today. The name comes from combining “Tobler” with “Torrone,” the Italian word for honey-almond nougat. Toblerone is now owned by Kraft Foods, but it is still made in Switzerland.
