What male hairstyles are in right now (Spring/Summer 2011)?
Currently, there are three themes that seem to be present in popular hairstyles for Spring/Summer 2011. The first of these is juxtaposition. Something old placed by something new. Hence, a modern man with a pompadour. An old fashioned cardigan, shrunken and paired with slim pants. This concept is more about the overall style than any particular cut. Opposing ideas maintain interest, so as long as the big picture is taken into consideration, something old is as good as new. The second of these themes is an androgynous appeal. Short cuts are becoming much more than a symbol of masculinity. It is no longer a rare occasion to see a woman sporting a short ‘do, especially as summer comes rolling around. It is also no longer rare to see a man walking down the street who has taken the time to blow dry and/or style his hair. Because of this, the concept of men’s cuts has been slightly feminized.
