What may the Ordnance Survey data and maps in Digimap be used for?
The permitted use of the data and maps from Digimap are described in the Terms of Use for the service, and in the Frequently Asked Questions on the Sub-Licence Agreement. Each user must read the Terms of Use for Digimap when they register. These and the Frequently Asked Questions on the Sub-Licence Agreement can be viewed from any point within the service. Broadly speaking, the maps and data may be used for educational purposes, including teaching, academic research, dissertations, theses, sponsored research, private study and for limited internal business use (location maps for events, for example). The following are examples of what the maps and data may NOT be used for. This list is not exhaustive: • Any work of a commercial nature, particularly that involving external (non-subscribing) organisations • Submitting as part of planning applications, either personal or as part of commercial activity or student placement work • Commissioned research undertaken for the sole and exclusive
