What mechanisms? MECHANISMS are parts of the barriers to good communication. A “mechanism” is something mechanical. Honest and clear communications requires a humanistic ability to let go of mechanical ways of being and open oneself to others. It’s been said before, but you really can’t simply teach a person to be empathic through something like a managerial training program. At best, you can provide an environment that allows empathy to flow, which means the people involved need to know they won’t have to defend themselves for being genuine. That alone works against most environments you find in our capitalistic/consumeristic meritocracy. If you’re referring to communication “skills” training, then I would agree this helps people to determine what they might be doing wrong when it comes to communicating with people, but whether or not someone will want to use what they learn with others (or whether it is practical to do so) is a completely different story. I mean think about this. Loo
