The Nortel Application Switch family consists of the 3408E, 2424E, 2424-SSL E, 2216E, and 2208E. The 3408E offers the same features and performance as the 2424 E, but with a new flexible Gigabit Ethernet port configuration. The 3408 supports 12 GE ports. 4 ports are 10/100/1000 BASE-T Copper, 4 ports are 1000 Mbps fiber SFP-GBIC and 4 ports can be used for either 10/100/1000 BASE-T Copper or 1000 Mbps fiber SFP-GBIC. The Application Switch family offers performance/port configurations and price points that allow customers to pick the model fit for their application and the model that will maximize their ROI.
