Employers and professors have significant leverage when it comes to shaping a student's motivation to work harder in school, according to a report released by Public Agenda, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization based in New York City. Eighty-five percent of high school students say they are motivated to work harder by the prospect of getting into a good college or getting a college scholarship.  more
