What opportunities are there for worship and ministry at Ridley?
Since Ridley’s primary purpose for existence is the training of ordinands, there are many regular opportunities for corporate worship, prayer and ministry. As a member of the community, you would be expected to attend (and take part in leading) daily morning prayer at 8.15am Monday-Friday. You would also attend and regularly help to plan the community’s Thursday night communion services. Your involvement would include reading scripture, leading prayer, helping to administer the bread and wine and – at times – co-leading the service or preaching, depending upon the length of your course of study. Every other week during term-time the Cambridge Theological Federation comes together for worship, and the seven institutions take it in turns to plan and lead services. There are also regular voluntary services each week at Ridley, including evening prayer, Eucharist and Compline, and more informal events organized by groups of students.
