What paints do you use to stencil the various colours?
It is not possible to use ordinary paint, since anything ‘organic’ would burn off at the high temperatures inside the kiln. I use various glass & ceramic based materials to create the colours, which I mix together myself to create my own unique compounds. It is a similar concept to using pottery glazes on ceramics. It takes a lot of time and experimentation to find exactly the right colours for each piece of art. Like pottery glazes, the colours change drastically once they are fired, so it takes alot of experience to know what works.
