What percentage of Lebanons population is of the Islamic faith?
Before the war in the 1970s, the population of christians and muslims was fairly equal. We have a lot of Lebanese Maronites in Sydney, and, when my father was running for parliament in those days, he met a lot of them. They told us how things were so peaceful between the two groups, then Syria interfered, and it all flared up. The Christians were treated so badly, they fled. So now the population is much more Islamic.
