What percentage of ppl actually breast feed these days?
I don’t honestly know I think the number of people starting out breastfeeding may be on the increase but many people still switch to formula wuite quickly because they don’t get adequate support with issues they might experience. Since becoming a mummy this year I have been quite interested in this so here’s what my experience is. Of 3 women (including me) on my team at work who have had babies this year. #1 BF for 5 months before swicthing to formula because her son seemed constantly hungry and never satisfied. #2 – me – still BF at 4 months and intend to BF to a year or beyond. #3 BF at 9 weeks and intends to go until “at least” 6 months if not beyond. (#4 due in a week also intends to BF for a year) Of my “baby group” friends 3 still BF at 6 months 3 extended BF still feeding their 18 month + children another planning on weaning to formula at 6 months of my postnatal group 5 BF 5 FF (most who started BF but gave uo due to problems) EDIT: These are UK figures from 2005 published this
