What prevents AVC encoding/decoding from becoming a commodity market?
The open standard approach will ensure that AVC will eventually become a commodity. The availability of integrated silicon chipset solutions make it easy for a multitude of decoder suppliers. The encoder market is too small to justify off-the-shelf silicon solutions. We think the market will become saturated with numerous decoder solutions much more quickly than the encoder market.
