• Two versions of the same product are licensed in the UK: • Levonelle 1500® (prescription-only medicine) [ABPI Medicines Compendium, 2004b]. • Levonelle One Step® (pharmacy-only medicine) [ABPI Medicines Compendium, 2004a]. • Both Levonelle 1500® and Levonelle One Step® are dispensed with one levonorgestrel 1.5 mg tablet per pack. • Oral levonorgestrel emergency contraception as two tablets containing 750 micrograms levonorgestrel is no longer available in the UK.
