What properties are important in the use aliphatic fluids in agriculture?

0

These aliphatic fluids have a number of important properties with respect to their use in agriculture in general and specifically as adjuvants. These properties include: 1. Low phytotoxicity. The aliphatic fluids are essentially nonphytotoxic at typical application rates in the field. The Exxsol D Fluids and the high purity Isopar Fluids are generally considered to be nonphytotoxic even at high concentrations. 2. Low surface tension. Low surface tension facilitates “spreadability,” and provides more uniform wetting of the surface to which the pesticide is applied. All of our aliphatic fluids exhibit very low surface tension. 3. Low odor. This characteristic is especially important in home-and-garden formulations. The Exxsol D Fluids have low odor. The Isopar Fluids and Norpar Fluids are essentially odorless. 4. Solvency power. The Exxsol D Fluids have a high cycloparaffin content that gives increased solvency power as compared to the Isopar Fluids and Norpar Fluids.
