What qualifications do I need to be a nursery teacher?

I don’t understand why Joyful got thumbs down for her perfectly correct answer. The asker asked how to become a nursery TEACHER, and to become a teacher you do need to have a degree and QTS. I know because I am a nursery teacher, and I most definitely had to get a degree to become one. You basically need the same qualifications as you would need to become a primary teacher. Even if you do a primary teaching degree with a specialism in Key Stage 2 you would still be able to apply for a nursery teaching position. And vice versa. You can specialise in Early Years but then get a job in a junior school if you decide you want to try slightly older children. A nursery teacher is different from a childcare worker/nursery nurse/teaching assistant which is what people with qualifications lower than a level 6 (ie degree level) are.
