You actually don't need any qualifications as such, if you are referring to academic ones. It's a 'people' job so you must be cheerful and able to converse with your customers. A love of travel helps, and a decent geographical knowledge will do you good too. Some historical knowledge may also help if customers are looking for that sort of thing. Generally though, a solid education and pleasant character will see you through as on the job training will be given.
