What qualifies as organic and inorganic materials?
Organic materials are derived from animal or vegetable life and contain carbon as a primary component. Examples are tiny bits of plant material and animal material in water. Inorganic materials are not derived from animal or vegetable life and do not generally contain carbon compounds. Examples are calcium and magnesium (hardness) in water.
