Jamison’s very simplified history of WW2 is simplified to the point of idiocy! Try this for more accuracy: 1) in 1937 the Second Sino-Japanese War started, this is widely regarded as the first conflict of World War 2 although; 2) Most people know of the start of the war as being in 1939 when the Germans and Soviets jointly invaded Poland. France and Britain honoured their treaties with Poland and declared war on Germany. 3) The Soviets then proceeded to occupy the baltic territories and fight a war with Finnland 4) British troops were deployed in Europe and in April 1940, Germay attacked and occupied Denmark and Norway. 5) On May 10 1940, Germany invaded France, Belgium and the Netherlands. By the end of the month British forces had withdrawn to the United Kingdom to prepare for invasion. 6) On June 10, Italy declares war on the UK and France. France surrenders to the Germans on June 22. 7) The Germans attack Britain using air power resulting in the Battle of Britain, no naval or troop
