What responsibility do parents have with regard to their child being in New Day Charter School?

The most important responsibility of the parent is to make sure that the charter school environment is one that your child wants to be in and will succeed in. Students that receive their education virtually (online) rarely succeed if they are not motivated. Likewise, a child receiving traditional and/or experiential education also needs to be motivated. Let your child know how important education is, and show an interest in their school work. Make sure your child has an appropriate study area, and keep up with how they are doing in their classes. Student attendance at PSSA testing is critical. Students in grades 7, 8 and 11 are required to take these tests each spring. New Day Charter School provides several sites where these tests can be taken, and parents need to ensure their child is present. Teachers need to be able to contact you, so talk to your child’s teachers and let them know the best way to contact you. Students are most successful when communication between parent and teach
