What role does the public play in negotiations?

0

The Government of Canada recognizes the importance of conducting negotiations in a spirit of openness and co-operation. It is committed to providing members of the public with meaningful opportunities to have input into negotiation processes that may directly affect their interests. To this end, the Government will work with provinces/territories and Aboriginal groups to develop appropriate consultation mechanisms for parties that may be directly affected by self-government negotiations and agreements.
