What sanctions are required by TEC Chapter 39 for campuses rated Academically Unacceptable Year 4?
As defined by TEC Chapter 39, in AU Year 4, the commissioner shall review the progress at the campus and may order closure or pursue alternative management (nonprofit entity or district in the same Education Service Center region). If the commissioner allows the campus to remain open, the campus must continue with the Campus Intervention Team assignment approved and qualified by the commissioner and the implementation of the approved school improvement plan. The commissioner may appoint a monitor, conservator, management team, or board of managers to oversee the full implementation of the school improvement plan.
