What separates the eastern and western hemisphere?
Nothing except an imaginary, arbitrary circle consisting of the Greenwich Meridian running from the North Pole through London to the South Pole, and the 180 degree meridian running from the South Pole, between NZ and the Chatham Islands, up the Pacific, across the eastern tip of Siberia to the North Pole, completing the circle.
