Communicator Mobile is a client of Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. In order to support Communicator Mobile with users who are connecting over an internal network, you must deploy Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. If you also want to support users who connect over external Wi-Fi or mobile wireless network connections, you also need to deploy Office Communications Server 2007, Edge Server. If you currently support external users for Office Communications Server, no additional server hardware is required.
