What services do career counselors offer?
Career counselors offer a variety of services to help you investigate and plan your career advancement. The most frequently used services include: • Assessments – Career assessments can help identify your top interests, skills and values. • Education Plans – Counselors guide research for local educational programs in your career area and identify financial support that will help pay for training. • Development Plans – You can ask a career counselor to help you create a KP yearly Individual Development Plan to gain your manager’s approval and support. • Job Search Assistance – If you know what you want to do and already have the training, counselors can help navigate Kaiser Permanente’s job application system so you can find the job that’s right for you. They can also help with resume writing and interview preparation, as needed.
