What shoe wear material do vegans purchase?
There are plenty of animal-free shoes out there. Most of the shoes you find in stores like Payless Shoe Source for instance are vegan. I typically read the tag in the shoe (they would say 100% man made material, or they will specify “leather upper” or something). I also check on company’s websites. I was delighted to learn that my Demonia boots are 100% man made material, though they look so much like leather that when I bought them I guiltily suspected they were leather… it was only when I checked later that I saw they weren’t. It is cheaper to use man made materials and I find that it is almost impossible to tell sometimes. I also have a pair of winter boots that look like they are suede but they are actually mock suede (fake, basically), with faux trim and completely 100% man made.
