What should be seen on a sonogram at 5 weeks into the pregnancy?
First of all, just relax. I have not had an ultrasound at 5 weeks, but have had one at 6 weeks and 7 weeks. Basically its just a little sac and a little kidney bean shaped mass on it. I have a picture of one of them and its kind of hard to make out since its so early in the pregnancy. I would just relax for now. Send some prayers up and know that what is meant to be will be. Its really out of your hands, so all you can do is relax and try not to stress. Take your prenatal vitamins and continue to follow up with your doctor. It sounds reasonable that it was just too early to tell anything. Press your doctor to refer you for another ultrasound. There should be a visible heart beat around 6-7 weeks and that would be all the reassurance you would need to feel okay.
