If it’s an outside party, stick with the picnicky grill food, hot dogs, sausages, potato salad, chips, beer, cole slaw, ice cream floats, juice boxes, soda pop, veggie tray, etc. If it’s an indoor party sans grill, change out the franks and sausages for broasted chicken for adults and chicken nuggets for kids. High end on the grill includes steaks for the adults (but the kids probably still want hot dogs). Make wine available. High end indoors….lobsters for the adults, but still chicken nuggets for the kids. Kids will get a kick out of watching people eat lobster. Theme ideas with complex menus: luau with hog roast; beach party with crab boil; mardi gras party with crawfish boil; beach party with clam bake; rodeo party with steak fry; elegant 7 course dinner; princess party with high tea…. You could go crazy depending on how much you want to spend, your theme, and site. Have fun!!
