What sort of questions do they ask at a passport interview?

Anybody having their first adult passport has to be interviewed now. My son was recently interviewed and also my friend’s son. They ask you for your parents and siblings full names and dates of birth, where you were born and sometimes where your family were born (e.g. not if you were just born in Britain, but the actual town/hospital). They might also ask about your schooling. If you are who you say you are, then you have nothing to worry about. However… make sure you are not late or you won’t be seen. You have to be there 5 minutes early – any earlier and you won’t be allowed in – any later and the same applies, and if you turn up dead on time or even a minute late, you’ll have to make a new appointment.
