Definitely NOT tap-water, regardless of where it came from. It must be distilled or de-ionised. Nothing else. The distilled water we use, which should be at your NZ supermarket, is the Pure Dew brand of ‘ultra-distilled’ bottled water. Alternatively, you can ask your chemist for distilled water, or if you have the equipment and the expertise, set up a steam-distiller.
