What sorts of careers will a degree in Politics lead me to?

Well, obviously it could lead to a career as a politician, but a degree in politics could be useful in any number of more peripheral careers in politics. Ranging from positions in corporations or special interest groups that deal have to deal with the government, to service as a foreign ambassador, all the way to something like managing Public Relations for political candidates. And of course, if the degree in politics is supplemented by a degree in law (Which many Political majors also choose to pursue, although you don’t need one to get some use out of a Political degree.), your career options open up exponentially.

A degree in this subject is something that would interest me personally and I’m still learning about it myself. Aside from Politician, I believe the degree can lead to careers in the civil service, local government, education, diplomacy/international relations, journalism and management. As well as this I imagine there would be the option of working within a political organisation in a role other than politician. Politics can be considered a social science and could be expanded upon, I think, to lead to careers in other social fields such a psychology and sociology. Furthermore the skills developed in Politics degree are supposedly valuable in various mostly unrelated fields.
