Federal law requires that students make satisfactory progress in their course of study in order to receive financial aid. The following Standards of Academic Progress were adopted by NTCC for the purpose of determining continuing student eligibility for need-based financial aid. Each fall and spring semester students must complete both the minimum number of hours from those attempted as well as achieve the cumulative GPA requirements. The following chart states the minimums that NTCC students who receive federal or state aid must meet. A transfer student from another college must have a cumulative semester 2.0 GPA as evidenced by an academic transcript. If no academic transcript is available at the time of the award, aid may be awarded on a probationary basis for one semester only.
