The Simpsons is set in the fictional American city of Springfield. The state in which it is located has never been made clear, and it is not actually intended to exist in any specific state. Nevertheless, throughout the show’s history, fans have tried to determine where Springfield is by taking the town’s characteristics, surrounding geography and nearby landmarks as clues.
