What swimming pool pump and filter would you recommend for an above ground pool?

The size of the pump and filter depends on the volume of water in your pool. Brand depends on what part of the world you live in. If your filter is Ok then why not but if you need a new filter then the type of filter is the easy one – make sure it is a sand filter as they require a lot less maintenance and you will not have to buy Diatomatious Earth and the other filter bits and pieces. Just back flush and restart filtering. If you have a salt water pool you may need to look at a salt/chlorine converter as well but your pool shops are all up to speed with that stuff. Shop around to as many pool shops as you can and see if you can get a common response to what you need and then go with the place that made you feel good.
