What symbols/logos/iconic things represent Whitley Bay and/or Newcastle?

Cramlington and Whitley Bay aren’t the same place, Cramlington is Northumberland – not Newcastle – and Whitley Bay is Tyne and Wear. So Newcastle-themed iconic landmarks etc. like Tyne/Millennium/Swing bridges or a magpie might not work (magpie is also strongly linked to Newcastle United football club). If you really want to take Whitley Bay to represent your heritage because your dad lived there a while, I’d not really say that’s to do with heritage myself, then he should surely be able to give some ideas of something that represents his time there and what is important to the family. Whitley Bay is a bit too specific – I’d suggest going more for something to represent Tyne and Wear or Northumberland…maybe just an outline map of the whole area. Obviously St. Mary’s Lighthouse or Spanish City Dome (maybe the female lead figures that sit either side of the dome) are the most well-known symbols of Whitley Bay, the only other things I can really think of are the Seafront clock or Chris
