What takes a rust stain out of clothes?

0

I have removed rust stains from clothing with a couple of methods. One is with salt and lemon juice. First, wet the stain with water. Then sprinkle liberally with salt. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze some of the juice onto the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then use the cut end of the lemon to scrub the area. Wash in warm water. Another method that worked for me was a product called Bar Keeper’s Friend. It is a powdered cleanser that removes many stains, including rust, from different surfaces. I tried it on fabric and it worked. make a paste of the cleanser and water. Apply it to the stain and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Launder as usual.
