What takes boot/scuff marks off of white plastics on a motorcycle or ATV?

When I used to work at a bike shop this guy came around peddling some sort of metal polish called “Colonel Brassy” the stuff was excellent for cleaning marks off plastic and black boot marks off exhaust pipes. I suppose any metal polish would do give it a try.
