What tangible benefits does a diverse work force have for a business?
Even if a work force is richly diverse, that doesn’t mean it will be effective. You need to look at inclusion to find a way to make that diversity work. If you have that, the diversity will attract clients — it’s operating off of the notion that customers want to feel understood and represented with the companies they do business with. The other key is innovation. A singular perspective on a business problem is much less likely to come up with a great solution. If you can have a wide variety of perspectives, you’re more likely to find the best solution. The minds of the past used to solve problems will not be the minds going forward, considering the current economic issues many businesses are facing.
