This approach markedly minimizes both posterior subcapsular cataract development and retinal detachment risk because it minimizes both pulsatile traction on the retina and total fluid throughput. Dr Charles uses local anesthesia and outpatient surgery usually in a surgery center rather than the hospital, and no air or gas bubble.
